About DX6
DX6 is an independent website that shows live 6 meter (50 MHz) radio propagation around the world. It is built for amateur radio operators chasing openings on the magic band, and for anyone curious about how radio signals travel across the planet.
What DX6 does
Every five minutes, DX6 gathers fresh reception reports from the PSK Reporter network, recent DX cluster spots and current space weather readings. It turns them into a live map of open paths, a band status summary, a 24-hour activity history and lists of the longest and most widely heard signals. Everything updates automatically.
The guides explain the science behind what you see, from sporadic-E to trans-equatorial propagation, and how to get on the air yourself.
Data sources
DX6 relies on public data generously provided by:
- PSK Reporter, for automatic reception reports.
- HamQTH.com, for DX cluster spots.
- NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center, for solar and geomagnetic data.
DX6 is not affiliated with these organizations. Details of how the data is processed are on the How the map works page.
